Nook Tablet versus Kindle Fire
Barnes & Noble Inc unveiled its first tablet on Monday attempting to take on Amazon’s Kindle Fire.
Before we decide who will be the winner, let’s compare the duo.
1) The Fire has a price tag of $199 while the Nook Table cost $50 more. Amazon may not be the best tablet but it certainly is the cheapest.
2) The Nook Tablet has a higher internal storage than the Kindle Fire. It can expand to 32 GB while the Kindle Fire only have 8 GB of storage. But it has Amazon Cloud something the Nook Tablet does not have yet.
3) Both the tablets used the same processor but the Barnes & Noble’s tablet have 1 GB of ram compared to the Amazon’s tablet 512MB of ram.
4) The Amazon’s tablet offer a shorter battery life compare to the Nook Tablet.
Steve Jobs’ biography out
The long wait is finally over when the biography everyone is anticipating for is finally out.
The 656-page hardcover book written and compiled by Walter Isaacson consist of key events in the Apple founder’s life. Some include his first job with Atari, his founding of Apple in a garage, his hippie years searching for spiritual enlightenment in India, his ouster from Apple and triumphant return in 1997.
The book also includes interview with Microsoft’s founder Bill gates and 39 others tech leaders as well as discussion with 100 executives that knew Mr Jobs.
The book took two years to write and was suppose to be published next year. The date was brought forward after the sad departure of Steve Jobs.
RIM new plans for app developers
After a sudden decrease in market sales, Research In Motion ( RIM ) has announced its new strategy to overcome its misery. The Blackberry Playbook had been a bad move to try to take out the Apple’s iPad 2. RIM have to come up with a solution to assure developers there is future for blackberry.
The company’s reputation also drop after its services continue to fail affecting millions of worldwide users.
From Tuesday 19 October to Thursday 20 October, it will hold its annual conference for software developers in San Francisco. There they will try to persuade developers to continue to develops apps for Blackberry Mobile and its Playbook.
The key reason why the Playbook lost the tablet war to iPad 2, is that it lacks apps. People are less keen to buy its devices since it does not have much softwares to offer.
RIM hopes to create a new generation of blackberry devices that will be using a new and more capable operating system called BBX. The bold creation will try to grab developers attention who have been avoiding the system.
Lenovo become second largest PC vendor
Lenovo has become the second largest personal computer vendor in the world for the first time. Just ahead, is Hewlett Packard also commonly known as HP. Despite its tablet failure, HP still dominates the computer market.
Lenovo’s PC shipment increase by 2.4 per cent from 11.1 per cent last year to 13.5 per cent thus year. The sudden increase in PC sold worldwide is also boosted by a joint venture with NEC in Japan.
Android Malware Increase 671% !!!
Various mobile security companies and researchers have found that malware has been drastically increasing by 671 % over the years.
